I don’t sneak these in very often, but I thought I’d do a personal post today. Back in October, my little family of 4 took ourselves off to Corfu for a small holiday. The Mr and I had asked The Smalls what one big adventure they wanted to have this year. I loved the fact that they both wanted to go on an airplane (to France and New York, but that’s for another time). Now there’s a sense of adventure. Big Small (6) had been on one when he was 3 months old, but we thought it only fair to do it at a time when he would remember…
So Corfu it was. Flights booked, hotel booked, last week of the season – we were all SO VERY READY. I made sure I only took my beloved Mamiya 645afd and several boxes of film. I took my underwater camera too, but you know what? Film just felt right. And it was perfect. I can’t believe how much I love shooting film photography, for so many reasons.
We didn’t travel out around the island (end of season – everything was closed!) but The Smalls had an awesome time right there on the tiny shingle beach. Most of the time, the swimming pool was an ice bucket, and the sun was hidden behind clouds. But you don’t need all of that to chase fish in the sea, to throw stones as far as you can, to explore the beach, to climb trees, and much more. I can’t wait to do it again sometime next year. <3
