I did my first wedding fair aaaaages ago, and I remember being nervous as hell. I also remember a couple who approached me and we chatted for ages about food, and wedding plans, and exciting things; I remember thinking “Holy crap I love the passion these guys have for their wedding already…” It had been a super long day, and I’d had very little interest from visitors. Speaking to Andy and Dena at the end of the day really lifted my spirits.
I didn’t hear anything for ages afterwards, and then they finally got in touch, saying they wanted to book. THRILLED FACE!! I did their engagement photo shoot, and Andy even booked me for his son’s afternoon tea wedding in Hanbury earlier this year. I think I appreciated Andy and Dena from day one, because they fully understood the importance of photos for an (ANY) event. Dena had been very poorly leading up to the big day, but she still wanted every moment caught. She was amazing. Added to that it was scorching hot, and they were very stressed out.
But you know what? They were both absolutely gorgeous.
I think my favourite moment of the day was Dena discovering the fields of barley behind the venue. She recalled running through them as a little girl with her dad, bare foot and skimming her hands across the tops. That was one of those moments where you just know that you are absolutely doing the right job. Her face was priceless, her excitement contagious.
Enough of my reminiscing! Huge congratulations to Mr & Mrs Parr. Your day really was wonderful. Thank you so much for including me in your amazing year! xx
