I head up north for Cheshire wedding photography quite a lot, to be fair. I’ve had my own clients up that way, but I also to visit my gorgeous girl, Claire Penn. So when she invited me to 2nd shoot at Sandhole Oak Barn back in Feb this year (yes, this is a WINTER wedding…), I was all “OH HELL YEAH”. Claire’s work is amazing, and she’s one of the best togs I’ve ever been lucky enough to work with.
Julie and Dom had organised their wedding day to revolve around hessian and yellow, with a brilliant vintage retro vibe. Balloon release, golden evening sunlight, me playing around with some sexy-soft camera tricks for portraits, mini schnapps bottles, a Beetle, a VW Camper Van – OH GOD so much to see. And of course I caught the cellist; the ex-pro cellist in me isn’t dead yet!
You’ll have to visit Claire Penn’s blog to glimpse all the awesomeness, or the Rock My Wedding blog (where it was FEATURED omg) or even check out Wedding Magazine (where it’s just been published; 2 of my images in there oh holy crap).
Now, I obviously can’t blog the whole wedding, as I was only shooting from the perspective of a 2nd shooter. But Claire has said I can blog my faves. Without sounding vain, I want to blog ALL THE PHOTOS because it was just such a fab day. I love them all. The ones I have posted here, I am SO DAMN PROUD OF THEM, I can tell you. Julie and Dom had some really brilliant ideas and I would love to shoot another one like this. So here we go, here are my absolute faves from the images I took. Huge congrats to Julie and Dom (you blummin hawt people), you were both ace. I hope you’re both enjoying your new life in NYC! And of course, massive thanks again to Claire for letting me come along and play. xx
