What better way to try out a new film camera, than to indulge in some children’s photography and some yummy black and white film?!

My kiddos are pretty used to being in front of the camera now. In fact, they’re just as keen to be behind the camera too. But it helps having my gorgeous boys be willing test subjects, as it means I can try out new toys on them.

I’m forever upgrading my equipment so I have the best I can use for your photo shoots. My most recent purchase was a Nikon F6 SLR. A 35mm camera, perfect for capturing all the “fast action” stuff, especially where kiddos are concerned. I love capturing children at weddings, and of course I’m a sucker for a family photo session too.

Turns out, I love photos of my kiddos so much, I wanted to share them. What can I say?? Maybe I’m a little biased. This was a weekend where they were enjoying a sofa/TV/pyjamas day. Followed by one of their favourite rituals – bath time. There’s something brilliant about washing their hair, and then asking them to shake it out. It’s pretty freaking awesome.

By the way, I’ve reopened bookings for children’s photography sessions over the next few months, until I hit wedding season again. Want some gorgeous photos of your kiddos (colour and black and white)? Hit me up via the contact page, or send me a message!

I love black and white. It’s how the photography part of my brain works. Shooting color comes out bad for me because when I imagine a shot in my head, or imagine what I want my shot to look like or when I’m composing my mind always sees the images in black white.
