Back in February, an opportunity arose to attend an amazing workshop. Film photography mogul Jonathan Canlas, was running his last ever “Film Is Not Dead” workshop (FIND), in Berlin, and I just HAD to go. So many of my amazing clients – friends – know very well of my love of film photography. So, the opportunity to expand my film photography skills and become a more awesome film photographer for my clients? There’s no WAY I was going to turn that down.
So on very short notice(!), I booked my ticket, flights, and accommodation, leapt onto a plane and flew to Berlin, Germany.
It. Was. COLD. (Real feel -3˚c, with some spectacularly horrible drizzle.)
But it was also AWESOME.
I made some incredible new friends whom I’m desperate to meet again. I learned a crazy amount of stuff about film photography (Bulb out, 45 deg, #PortraPushed2Stops, Pentax 645n FOR THE WIN). I stayed in a hotel famous for its coconut water (which was crazy tasty). We photographed gorgeous couples. We shared stories, ideas, feedback, and I had a brilliant time.
Massive thanks to Jonathan, my favourite Carmencita Film Lab, and my new found #FINDBerlin friends. Thank you for an amazing time. And helping me change my film rolls when my fingers were so cold I couldn’t even feel the camera any more. xx
