I heart Rosie and Nick. I actually heart them. They’re all kinds of awesome. I met the rest of their family, when I photographed her sister’s Bristol wedding at Riverstation. Of course, they were all crazy and brilliant.
They planned their Custard Factory wedding day at The Old Library, after a ceremony at Birmingham Registry Office. I absolutely loved this day, it was brilliant! There were just so many little things happening which made me giggle. Like the registrar putting a complete ban on any photos, and then instructing me on how to take photos. Photographing the results of asking three hilarious little girls to “smile for the camera”, knowing full well that the last thing they would do, is smile. Through to trying not to get run over taking photos in the dark in middle of Digbeth. And then using some dude’s white shirt, whilst he was still wearing it, as a reflector for my flash. And of course, my favourite conversation from the day:
Me (Outside in the centre of the Custard Factory, with Rosie and Nick): Ooooooo look at those crazy bikes! You should get on one of them and ride it. YES.
Rosie: Jay! There is NO WAY you are getting me on a bike in my wedding dress!
Me: Just try it! Do it. Seriously, do it. It’ll be AWESOME. And HILARIOUS.
Rosie: *Gets on bike, laughing*
Me: You too, Nick! This is gonna be BRILLIANT. *Falls over laughing*
You know that one person who is always doing stupid stuff, and yet you can’t help but join them? *Waves hello*
Massive massive MASSIVE thanks to Rosie and Nick for having me along to shoot their day. I’m so happy for you guys, and I loved your expression when I delivered your goodie box right to your door! Thank you for humouring me, trusting me, and for being pretty damn cool. 😉 x
