“Yes, we’ve decided to have our wedding in Ecclesall Woods. And we REALLY want you to be our wedding photographer“. I damn near WET MYSELF with excitement when Corinne told me of her wedding plans. A wedding in Ecclesall woods? For real? Like, in the beautiful outdoors? And a picnic? And wellies? And apples? And singing? And, and, and OMG I have no idea how I’m going to contain myself.
You may remember Corinne and Gareth from a while back, when I did their E-Shoot and Rock the Frock session at the Black Country Living Museum, almost exactly one year ago. In that time, I’m pretty sure they’ve grown even closer together, and I was THRILLED when Corinne announced she was expecting another little baby (and yes, we’re already talking Maternity Photoshoots, obviously). So when it came to shooting their wedding day, well. To say that I could literally feel the natural love in the air between the two of them was just incredible. And remember, much as I love weddings, I am so NOT a mushy sort of person. (Bit hardcore. Kinda.)
Their wedding day started off with wonderfully relaxed preparations at their home with their immediate family. There was no panicking, no obvious rushing around, and everything was just so lovely. We headed out for the hanadfasting wedding in Ecclesall Woods – I discovered that Gareth, with a brilliant skill for carving and crafting wood, had made a little arch for them decorated with feathers and ferns. And just as they stepped up to the arch to commence the ceremony…the sun literally BEAMED glorious light. Awesome? Oh hell yes. (For the record, Gareth also hand carved over 30 wooden spoons to give to the guests as gifts. I have one. I love it.) Followed by a picnic in the woods and some bride and groom shots, the whole thing was just immense. I could pick out a million things, but you’ll see it all for yourself.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you both, and I am so thrilled to have spent the day with you. And of course, I’m really looking forward to the arrival of your little one in a few months… xx
