10 years you guys!! The Mr and I have been married for 10 whole years! (And by the time I get round to blogging these photos, a couple of additional months, too!)
We don’t get to travel as a couple very often since we have our two kiddos, too. (You met them on a previous blog post!) However, when we do travel, you can bet we make it absolutely worthwhile. We wanted to find an absolutely awesome way to celebrate 10 years of marriage, and we agreed upon New York. I’ve already been once before, but it was the first time for him. Bearing that in mind, I figured it was best that we literally just walk and explore NYC Central.
Which gave me the chance to indulge in a little New York City travel photography.
It was tiring, walking almost non-stop for miles during the 4 and half days we were there. But it was WORTH IT. In fact, we never noticed how tired we were until we got back to our hotel each day! We were staying at the Sofitel Hotel in midtown Manhattan. That meant we had easy access to literally everything we needed and wanted. Empire State, The Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Times Square, Liberty Island – all the good ole’ touristy stuff. Even though I’d done them before, it was wonderful to see The Mr’s reaction!
And of course, it meant I could happily snap away at all the details in between. I love the yellow taxis, the jungle of glass and concrete, the structures, the food, the icons…ahhhhh man. I’m totally in love with New York. So is The Mr (he’s already wanting to work out when we can go back. I’m guessing it strongly appealed to his fondness for structural engineering!) And being there in time for Thanksgiving – oh man, it was literally an Urban Winter Wonderland. And we got to see a marriage proposal on the ice rink outside The Rock! <3
I took loads of photos, on one camera – my beloved Nikon F6 film camera. Loaded with Portra 400 and trust in my favourite Carmencita Film Lab, I snapped away. So, here’s New York City through my eyes. 🙂
(And before I forget, if you would like to purchase any of these as limited edition prints, please head on over to my online print gallery and shop. Thank you!)
