(I couldn’t help myself. I just had to use that alliteration…)
Claire and Christian planned their early January Windermere wedding at the Wild Boar Inn, in the stunning Lake District. Windermere is so beautiful, driving up there I was a bit breath-taken with the views! I arrived the day before the wedding, and the sun was shining, and everything looked gorgeous.
And then the following morning, the morning of the wedding, it was blowing a gale like I hadn’t seen in a LONG time. But when I found the couple getting ready for their big day, I just loved that they were completely not phased by it at all. Claire looked absolutely gorgeous and was so calm and smiley that morning (I have to say here that, Claire’s gorgeousness shone from the inside; she just looked beautiful). And my lovely, brilliant 2nd shooter, Bhavna Barratt, had such a laugh with Christian and his groomsmen as they dressed up – he is such a brilliant dude!
There was clearly to be no let-up in the weather. So what did we do? Well obviously we all said sod it and went out into the woods regardless! On went the boots, out came the brollies, and into the Range Rover to go on a crazy woodland tour through mud and rain. Claire & Christian were just fantastic; it was clear that they weren’t going to let driving rain stop them from being completely into each other.
Just like the couple, their friends and family were absolutely brilliant. Kilts a-plenty, “BristleBots” to play with, a cheese cake from Churchmouse Cheeses, and a good old ceilidh. I loved shooting on my film cameras for their day (even in the rain – honestly, nothing will stop me!), and even more, I loved working with this amazing couple. Huuuge congratulations to them and their beautiful boy Dougie, and thanks to them for inviting me to share their awesome wedding day. xx
